Origin of Mutholath Family is from Chenthottathil Family in Cherpunkal. History of Chenthottam Family is currently unknown. The plot of land owned by Neduvelil Chummar near Pandiyanthotty Purayidam was recorded in legal documents as Chenthottathil Purayidam. Purayidam means plot of land where a house is built. So it can be assumed that Chenthottathil family was living in that area. An ancestor, Mr. Thomman (Thomas) of Chenthottathil family had two sons, Kuriako and Kurian. Whether he had any daughters is not known. Kuriako lived in Kizhakke-varikattu (East-varikattu) and Kurian lived in Padinjare-varikattu (West-varikattu) property. Kizhakke-varikattu property is now owned by M.C. Chacko Mutholath and Padinjare varikattu is now owned by Poovathumkal Late Appachan's children.
