KIZHAKKE-VARIKATTU FAMILY
Kizhakke (eastern) varikattu is one of the two main branches of Chenthottathil family. When Kuriakko, one of the two sons of Mr. Thomman Chenthottathil started living in the eastern portion of Varikattu property, Kuriakko and his descendants came under Kizhakke-varikattu branch. The other main branch was Padinjare (western) varikattu Kurian and his descendents.
Kizhakke-varikattu Kuriakko had two sons: Kunjamman and Chandy. Kunjamman moved to Madathil property and came to be know as Kunjamman Madathil. His brother Chandy remained at Kizhakke-varikattu.
KUNJAMMAN MADATHIL
He became a very popular businessman and earned many plots of land. He later lived in Madathil property and became known as Madathil Kunjamman.
His wife died after giving birth to their fourth son. So Kunjamman married again and he had four more sons. Besides he had three daughters from his both wives.
His eldest two sons, after their marriage, settled in Kongandoor, six kilometers west-south of Cherpunkal. One of them died just after a child was born to him. The other was Kunjulonan. His children moved to Malabar area.
Madathil Kunjamman's third son Ouseph lived in Thengumthottathil property in Cherpunkal. His descendents are now in Cherpunkal and Malabar area.
The fourth son Chandy was infected with plague during his business trip to Tamil Nadu. He returned home and died before his marriage.
The fifth son (first from the second wife) Kuriakko settled at Kannambadam proprty in Kongandoor. He earned more property. He had five sons and two daughters. His youngest son became a priest in Vijayawada Diocese and was known as Varikattu Poppachan.
Madathil Kunjamman's sixth son Thommy lived in an additional house constructed in Madathil property. The seventh son Esthappan (Stephen) lived in the house of his parents in Madathil, and the eighth son Mathai married from Neendoor and lived at his wife-house.
Madathil's Kujamman's one daughter was married to Mr. Kuriako Vattapparambel in Paingalam. Another daughter was married to Nedumakkil family in Kidangoor.
Madathil Thommy had two sons and seven daughters. His eldest son first lived in Kulappurath property and then moved to Attappady. His two daughters became sisters. One of them is Sr. Baselius in the Visitation Congregation. Madathil Thommy's second son was Appachan who had two sons and two daughters. He died at the age of 50.
Esthappan Madathil had two sons and three daughters. Two of his daughters became sisters in a convent in Kollam.

CHANDY KIZHAKKE-VARIKATTU
Chandy, son of Kuriako Kizhakke-varikattu, had five sons and few daughters.
His eldest son Kuriakko married from Kumarakom and lived in Kollam and later settled in Kottayam.
The second son Chacko lived with his parents in Kizhakke-varikattu house. He sold his property to Mutholath Kuriakko and moved to Malabar. That property is now under the possession of M.C. Chacko, the eldest son of Mutholath Kuriakko. Kizhakke-varikattu Chacko had two sons: Chandy and James. Chandy lives with his family in Malabar. James married from Peroor and he lives in Peroor and works in a company.
Kizhakke-varikattu Chandy's third son Thomman lived in the southern part of Varikattu property and that house is known as Pazhaya-peedikayil. He had two sons: Alexander and Pathros (Peter), and two daughters. The daughters were the eldest and were married in Kottayam. Pathros moved to Malabar after the death of his wife. Son of Pathrose now lives in Kidangoor. One of the daughters of Pathros became a sister. Alexander married Mary from Cherpunkal Pathiplakkil family. They had four sons and four daughters. They run bakery business in Cherpunkal.
Ouseph, the fourth son of Chandy Kizhakke-varikatt was living in Peplakkil proporty. Thus he and his descendents Peplakkil as house name. Ouseph was a man of knowledge and devotion and was known as "Aasan" (teacher). He had three sons and three daughters. He gave importance to the education of his children. His eldest son Chandy completed his High School education and got a job in Delhi. After his retirement he settled in Trivandurm, the capital city of Kerala state. Ouseph's second son Pathrose (Peter) was a businessman. Sanu, son of Pathrose lives in the United States. His mother Ammini lives with him there. Ouseph's third son Abraham got job in Delhi after his education. His eldest daughter married an officer in Piravom. Kathrikkutty, his second daughter married to newspaper employee in Kottayam. Ouseph's third daughter was a nurse and she married Job Chirayil in Kuruppanthara. Job's mother was the daughter of Mr. Kuriako Chacko Mutholath.
Chandy the fifth son of Chandy Kizha-varikattu lived with his father in Poovathumkal property close to Varikattu property. After giving birth to a son and daughter, the fifth son Chandy's wife died. So he married Annamma from Cherpunkal Thottupurath family. She gave birth to two sons, Appachan and Kuriako and a daughter. The daughter died at an young age by falling into a well while fetching water from the well. The three sons of Chandy are businessmen.
