Padinjare (western) varikattu is one of the two main branches of Chenthottathil family. When KURIAN, the second son of Mr. Thomman Chenthottathil started living in the western portion of Varikattu property, Kurian and his descendants came under Padinjare-varikattu branch. The other main branch was Kizhakke (eastern) varikattu Kuriakko and his descendents who lived in the eastern part of the Varikattu property.
Padinjare Varikattu KURIAN had four sons. They and their children lived in Mutholath, Padinjare Varikattu, Moozhail, and Neduvelil properties originating those family names. The descendents of these families are mostly in Cherpunkal. Some are in Malabar and United States.
ചേന്തോട്ടത്തിൽ കുടുംബത്തിൽനിന്നു വാരികാട്ടു പുരയിടത്തിനു പടിഞ്ഞാറുഭാഗത്തു താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന കുര്യന് നാല് ആൺ‌മക്കൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരിൽനിന്ന് അവർ താമസിച്ച പുരയിടങ്ങളുടെ പേരുകളായ മുത്തോലത്ത്, പടിഞ്ഞാറെ വാരികാട്ട്, മൂഴയിൽ, നെടുവേലിയിൽ എന്നീ കുടുംബങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായി. ഇവരിൽ മുത്തോലത്തു താമസിച്ചത് കുര്യാക്കോ എന്നുവിളിക്കുന്ന ചാക്കോ ആയിരുന്നു. മുത്തോലത്തു കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യപിതാവായ കുര്യാക്കോയുടെ സന്താന പരമ്പരകളിൽനിന്നാണ് അവർ താമസിച്ച പുരയിടങ്ങളുടെ പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെട്ട മുത്തോലത്ത്, കുളപ്പുറത്ത്, കുരീക്കുന്നേൽ, മാളിയേക്കൽ, കിഴക്കേവാരികാട്ട്, ഐക്കനാമഠത്തിൽ, അറയ്ക്കമറ്റത്തിൽ എന്നീ ശാഖകൾ ഉണ്ടായത്.
